Christian's 1st Birthday

Happy first birthday to Christian Bobb! The theme for the party was, "Christian for President". It was such a creative idea. I am including a few photos of the details of the party. I loved the Democratic Donkey and Republican Elephant cookies! I was impressed by the large paella at the party. My sister lives in Spain so we have enjoyed quite a few when visiting. I recently did a shoot of a first birthday party at Bubbles in Santa Monica. Sloane loved her party. In celebration of her Korean heritage, the party included a doljabi, the traditional fortune-telling ritual of a child's first birthday. Various items are placed in front of the child and the one that they select is said to predict the child's future. Among the items, thread signifies longevity, a pen indicates that the child will be scholar, and money predicts that the child will become wealthy. Sloane selected the money first, then the pen and string after.

Spain

We went to Spain to visit my sister in August. We went South of Valencia to Altea to stay near the ocean. The photos I have are of a day trip we did to a castle that was near there.

My brother in law is a wonderful cook and made us many great dinners. I have included an example of one of them. How spoiled we are when we visit Spain!

The last photo was of the Spanish horchata. It is not like the Mexican horchata that we are familiar with here which is made with rice. It is horchata de chufa which is made from tigernuts. It was delicious!

We were fortunate to get to shoot Sawako Yamauchi's new girl baby line for Miki Miette.

The clothes are beautifully designed and made with incredibly soft fabrics.

Our daughter Chloe was our model for this shoot.
